By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use the Service.
By accessing OnlyHugs's website, joining our waitlist, or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
OnlyHugs is a platform designed to facilitate safe, verified, platonic human connection — specifically, hugs — between consenting adults in public spaces. The Service is currently in a pre-launch phase and limited to a waitlist signup. Additional features and functionality will be introduced as the platform develops.
OnlyHugs is not a dating, romance, or intimate services platform. The Service is intended exclusively for platonic, non-sexual interactions. Any use of the platform for purposes other than platonic connection is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate removal from the waitlist or termination of your account.
To use the Service, you must be at least 18 years of age and capable of forming a binding legal agreement. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to request proof of age or identity at any time and to refuse service to anyone who does not meet our eligibility criteria.
When you sign up for our waitlist, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, including your first name, email address, ZIP code, and role preference. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the information you provide and for promptly updating it if it changes.
Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access to the platform at launch or at any specific time. Waitlist position, early access invitations, and launch timing are determined at OnlyHugs's sole discretion and may be influenced by factors including geographic location, role balance, and signup date.
OnlyHugs operates under a strict platonic-only policy. This is a core principle of the platform and is non-negotiable. By using the Service, you agree to the following:
All interactions must be platonic. The Service is designed exclusively for non-romantic, non-sexual human connection. Any attempt to use OnlyHugs to solicit, arrange, or engage in romantic or sexual encounters is strictly prohibited.
Consent is required for every interaction. All hugs and in-person meetings facilitated through the platform must be mutually and enthusiastically consented to by all parties. You may withdraw consent at any time before or during an interaction, for any reason.
Respect boundaries at all times. You agree to respect the personal boundaries, comfort levels, and preferences of every person you interact with through the Service. Harassment, intimidation, pressure, or any form of unwanted contact is strictly prohibited.
Zero tolerance enforcement. OnlyHugs enforces a zero-tolerance policy for violations of the platonic-only rule. Violations may result in immediate and permanent removal from the platform without notice or refund.
Safety is foundational to OnlyHugs. When the platform is fully operational, all in-person meetings arranged through the Service must take place in public spaces such as parks, cafés, libraries, or other publicly accessible locations. Private residences, vehicles, and isolated locations are not permitted meeting places.
While OnlyHugs provides safety features including identity verification, optional background checks, real-time location sharing, and a one-tap safety alert button, we cannot guarantee the conduct of any user. You acknowledge that you participate in all in-person interactions at your own risk and agree to exercise reasonable personal judgment and caution when meeting anyone through the Service.
You agree not to use the Service to engage in any of the following prohibited conduct:
Misrepresentation: providing false, misleading, or inaccurate information during registration or at any point while using the Service, including misrepresenting your identity, age, location, or intentions.
Harassment or abuse: engaging in harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, intimidation, or any behavior that causes another user to feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
Solicitation: using the Service to promote, advertise, or sell products, services, or content unrelated to the platform's intended purpose, or to solicit romantic or sexual encounters.
Platform abuse: attempting to circumvent security features, rate limits, or other protective measures; using automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service; or attempting to access data or accounts that do not belong to you.
Illegal activity: using the Service in connection with any activity that violates applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.
OnlyHugs reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates these conduct standards, including removing the offending user from the waitlist or platform, reporting the conduct to law enforcement, and pursuing any available legal remedies.
The Service and all of its content, features, and functionality — including but not limited to the website design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software — are owned by OnlyHugs or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any part of the Service without OnlyHugs's prior written permission.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OnlyHugs disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
OnlyHugs does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that any defects will be corrected. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information provided through the Service.
OnlyHugs is a platform that facilitates connections between users. We do not employ, supervise, or control the conduct of any user. We do not perform comprehensive background checks on all users unless a user opts into that feature. We are not responsible for the actions, behavior, or conduct of any user, whether online or in person.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OnlyHugs, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages for personal injury, emotional distress, loss of data, or loss of profits, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
In no event shall OnlyHugs's total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service exceed the amount you have paid to OnlyHugs in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty dollars ($50.00), whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless OnlyHugs and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: your use of the Service; your violation of these Terms; your violation of any rights of another person or entity; or your conduct in connection with any in-person meeting arranged through the Service.
OnlyHugs may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to, violations of these Terms, the platonic-only policy, or applicable law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
You may request removal from the waitlist or deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at hello@onlyhugs.co. We will process your request in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at hello@onlyhugs.co. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve the matter within 30 days of receiving your notice.
By joining our waitlist, you consent to receive electronic communications from OnlyHugs, including emails related to the waitlist, product updates, launch announcements, and other service-related information. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and OnlyHugs regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.
